As a continuation of the periodic follow-up by Dr. Muhammad Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, to the development plans of the electricity companies, including the nine distribution companies nationwide, and within the framework of the concern that the state pays to raise the level of service provided to the subscribers throughout the Republic
Dr. Muhammad Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, explained the efforts of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy in its various companies to raise the efficiency of the electrical network and improve the level of performance in order to ensure the stability and continuity of the electrical supply in accordance with quality standards and reduce the periods of power outages and to face the continuous increase in electrical energy consumption and the expected loads in consumption patterns, with Take all precautionary measures to confront the emerging corona virus,
In this regard, within the Luxor sector of the Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Company, which has about (430,000) subscribers, during the period from July 2014 to June 2020, expansion and replacement works were carried out to raise the efficiency of the electrical network in the governorate and improve the service for subscribers through the implementation of several plans. (An ambitious plan - a self-plan - replacing antennas) in addition to projects implemented for others, so that the total of what was developed and implemented on the electrical network during the period from July 2014 until June 2020 amounts to 1020 million pounds (one billion and twenty Egyptian pounds) with the following details:
The implementation of the ambitious plan for the Luxor electricity sector, financed by a loan from the state, to develop networks during the period from July 2017 until June 2020 was completed at a cost of 412 million pounds.
The self-plan was also implemented during the period from July 2014 until June 2020, at an amount of about 163 million pounds.
And about what has been implemented in the plan to replace medium voltage antennas with ground cables during the period from July 2017 to June 2020, with 95 operations, with a total cable length of 36,084 km, a value of 40 million pounds.
On the projects (implemented for others): The company has studied and implemented the projects required for others for the infrastructure of the electricity utility in the new cities of the Urban Communities Authority, and the feeding of national projects for drinking water, sanitation, factories, schools, irrigation ... etc, which contribute to the development of society and achieving a better life For the citizen, with a value of about 405 million pounds.
Within the framework of implementing the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic and the instructions of Dr. Muhammad Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, to implement the projects of the "Decent Life" initiative, which aims to raise the efficiency of electric power supply to the most needy villages for 3 villages. The first phase has been completed and the remaining stages will be completed by the end of the fiscal year 2023/2024.
The network components increased during the period from July 2014 until June 2020 in the following quantities:
Medium voltage dispensers from 21 to 50, with an increase of 138%
Medium voltage overhead lines from 2,624 km to 3140, an increase of 7.34%
Medium voltage cables from 1271 km to 1811, an increase of 45%.
Distribution transformers from 3721 transformers to become 4320 transformers, an increase of 24%
Transformer capacities of 975.6 MVA. To become 1315.89 MFA. Increase of 38%
Low voltage overhead lines from 4433 km to 5431, an increase of 27.6%.
Low voltage cables from 338 km to 416, an increase of 154%.
In order to achieve the satisfaction of our customers, the services provided have been developed to ensure the continuity of nutrition with the highest quality while reducing the number and periods of downtime.
With regard to development in the field of customer service:
• The unified reading program has been adhered to and linked with the issuance center to achieve the principle of transparency and guarantee all rights of the citizen to monitor his consumption and completely eliminate complaints about random reading.
• A civilian development of (6) has been completed and systems and programs have been developed for (9) customer service centers out of a total of (9) centers.
• All customer service centers are equipped with the latest devices and linked with the issuance center and the electronic platform.
• The company strives to achieve customer satisfaction by opening multiple electronic platforms to examine citizens' complaints and inquiries and respond to them.
• Providing various electronic payment outlets to facilitate payment for citizens.
In an effort to raise the efficiency of the network and improve its performance, the implementation was carried out according to the latest technical specifications and after conducting the necessary technical studies and taking into account the current loads, which is reflected in reducing the failure rates and separation times as well as improving the level of both the continuity of feeding and the efforts of the subscribers, where the following has been implemented: -
• Establishing new dispensers in load centers and supporting them with new entry feeders to remove bottlenecks and secure feeding.
• Create new exit feeders to achieve annular feeding instead of radial to secure feeding and load balancing
• Replacing old and worn out cables and connectors for some feeders on medium voltage by increasing the area of their sections to accommodate the existing loads and improving the levels of feeding efforts.
Reinforcement of the network with new transformers to create new sources of supply and reduce the loads of the existing transformers.
• Implementing transformer chains with higher transformer capacities to achieve economic load ratios.
• Create new exit feeders and split existing low voltage shorts to improve feeding efforts and eliminate bottlenecks.
Dr. Muhammad Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, emphasized the interest that the electricity sector attaches to raising the level of service and the electrical network, and stressed the importance of stabilizing the electrical supply and repairing all emergency faults in all regions.
He also stressed the need to pay attention to raising the level of performance in the various sectors and departments of the companies, and Shaker also stressed the interest in
