Mustafa Al-Sayyad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Livestock, Fisheries and Poultry announced the approval of the Board of Directors of the National Veal Project headed by Mr. Al-Qusayr - Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, for a new financing for the veal project at 32.6 million pounds
A total of 170 small farmers and farmers benefit from it to purchase and feed 1638 imported fast growing GM cattle for fattening as part of the National Veal Project.
The total of what has been funded for the project so far becomes about 3 billion two hundred and thirty-three million pounds, for about 20 thousand beneficiaries, and for financing more than 221 thousand head of cattle.
The fisherman has assigned the livestock and poultry development sector and the General Authority for Veterinary Services in coordination with the directorates of agriculture and veterinary medicine at the level of the Republic to intensify field follow-ups on the beneficiaries of the national project for vermin, whether local or imported, while providing all aspects of veterinary and health care and studying any problems facing beneficiaries on the ground and work To overcome it in its infancy.
For his part, Dr. Tariq Suleiman, head of the livestock and poultry development sector at the Ministry of Agriculture, said that the national project for veal contributes to providing red meat at a fair and appropriate price for both the producer and the consumer, in addition to the balance and stability of prices in the markets, whether they are the live heads of livestock - or the prices of red meat.
The stability and stability of the prices of live livestock and red meat during the past period and under the current circumstances was a strong and encouraging motivation for many small breeders to apply to benefit from the national project of veal.
Suleiman added that the total of what was loaned and financed to benefit from the national project of veal during the current year represents about 75% of the total disbursed during the period from 2017 - until now, which confirms the project's achievement of the desired goal.
