Abd al-Hamid al-Hajjan, Governor of Qalyubia, launched the national campaign to vaccinate primary school pupils against intestinal worms with mebendazole tablets at Othman bin Affan Primary School in the village of Shablenga in Banha city, which aims to dose 400,000 pupils in the primary phase. The governor emphasized that the campaigns come within the framework of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's interest in the health of school students and their protection from diseases, in addition to concern for the health of the mother and the fetus.
Al-Hajjan said that the Health Directorate has started implementing the national campaign to vaccinate schoolchildren against communicable diseases and intestinal worms, which targets 400,000 students from kindergarten and nurseries attached to government schools and primary school students in government, private and Azharian schools in all regions of Qalyubia governorate, and the total was examined until Now, there are 85,733 students, and the campaign has started in 7 educational departments, and the payment of 50 teams distributed over the departments and schools.
The governor directed the heads of neighborhoods, centers and cities and directors of the competent directorates to overcome any obstacles facing medical teams to facilitate their work to achieve maximum benefit for school students.
Emphasizing the need for school medical teams to attend schools to give pupils the dose, which is a tablet of mebendazole easy to dissolve in the mouth with an acceptable taste, as this treatment eliminates pinworms and ascariasis that infect children at this age stage, noting that health education teams took place during the two weeks The last two raised awareness of the campaign as well as awareness of the importance of personal hygiene and food source hygiene.
The governor also inspected the national campaign for the detection of women's health, as 601230 women have been detected so far, including chronic diseases, 631289 women, and obesity diseases, 147810 women, diabetes, 69744, and hypertension, 68432 women.
He pointed out that the initiative is a good package of health services provided to Egyptian women, which includes full detection of all diseases that may affect women, starting with malnutrition, problems of puberty and pregnancy and its follow-up, complications resulting from repeated pregnancy, in addition to breast cancer detection in the early stages.
The inauguration of this initiative came in the presence of Eng. Ali Abdul Sattar, President of Benha City, Dr. Hamdy Al-Tabbakh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Taha Ajlan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and a number of executive leaders in the governorate.
