The success march of the disability challenged at the table of the "African Women" Salon


 


The Egyptian and African Women’s Foundation for Development and Services, headed by Dr. Nagwa Ibrahim, held its monthly salon entitled "Challenge and Creativity" to celebrate the International Day of Disability, organized by the Foundation's Cultural Committee headed by Major General Hisham Farag, on Thursday at the Foundation's headquarters in Maadi.


Dr. Venus Fouad, the cultural advisor to the foundation, spoke in the salon, Dr. Hana Zaidan, professor of psychology and head of the art therapy unit at the Faculty of Art Education at Helwan University, Dr. Osama Farouk Mostafa, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education at Misr University for Science and Technology, and Dr. Shadia Kamal El-Din, head of the "Mayan" Foundation for People with Disabilities And the journalist Dr. Abdel Baset Azab, head of the Arab Media Center specializing in people with disabilities, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Sharif, the chief broadcaster of Sawt Al Arab Radio.


The salon discussed ways to integrate disability challengers into society, and how to train them in life skills to meet their daily needs, especially in the absence of parents, to reach a state of coexistence between the disabled and his community so that he is an effective member in society and not a burden on him, in addition to reviewing how to instill confidence and reassurance in himself and those around him. with it .


The salon touched on the importance of qualifying the teacher to deal directly with the disabled to bring him to a state of integration in his society, and the salon shed light on the role of civil institutions in creating a state of twinning and integration between the families of the disabled and the community, and between the disabled and his community, to spread the spirit of love and community peace.


A number of the salon guests spoke about their personal experiences and true coexistence, of cases of children whom God loved and made them people of determination challenged with disabilities, and how they were able to successfully transform this disability into a march of success and positive achievements that serve them in particular and serve the community in general.


The salon included a bouquet of artistic paragraphs in religious chanting and reciting poetry, presented by a distinguished group of disabled challengers, and at the end of the salon the Foundation honored a group of talented artistically and athletes of short stature and people of determination challenged with disabilities, and gave them certificates of appreciation, in honor of them and their determination to succeed.
