On the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day, the governor of Qalyubia and the head of the Administrative Control Authority office witness the celebration of the Administrative Control Authority under the slogan: "United Against Corruption" at the Governorate General Office, stressing the important role of administrative control in preventing and combating corruption and preserving public money



Abd al-Hamid al-Hagan / Governor of Qalyubia and Major General / Khaled Abd al-Latif, Director of the Administrative Control Office in Qalyubia and members of the office, witnessed the awareness ceremony and seminar organized by the Administrative Control Authority of the General Office of Qalyubia Governorate, in the presence of all the executive leaders in the province under the slogan: (United to fight corruption), in celebration of the International Day To combat corruption, which falls on December 9 of each year,

Where the awareness seminar was about defining corruption and the role that administrative control plays as one of the most important agencies in preventing and combating it, and the importance of raising awareness of the importance of preventing corruption and preserving public employment and public funds away from corruption.

 As the activities of the symposium began by listening to verses from the Holy Quran, then a word of welcome from Major General / Abdel Hamid Al-Hagan, Governor of Qalyubia, during which he highlighted the most important features of administrative corruption and how to prevent it.

He explained that the role of regulatory agencies in combating corruption was not limited to controlling violators and taking legal measures against them, but they adopted specific mechanisms to take the necessary preventive measures to prevent its occurrence, by increasing awareness of the danger of corruption through holding seminars, specialized training courses and workshops in management, strategic planning and information systems. And other ways to enhance the capabilities of leaders in various fields, through the National Anti-Corruption Academy.

He pointed out that Egypt witnessed a new era in fighting corruption under the leadership of Mr. President / Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, as the danger of corruption lies in destabilizing the pillars of development, weakening administrative systems, and its effects that target the destruction of the social fabric, the destruction of social confidence in public institutions, in addition to impeding economic growth Blocking the long and short-term goals of development plans, in addition to wasting state resources.

Then, Major General / Khaled Abdul Latif gave a lecture on the definition of corruption and the role of the Administrative Control Authority as one of the agencies entrusted with combating it, and how to fight corruption, and the negative effects of corruption at the economic level (monopoly of goods with the support of some officials, budget deficit as a result of tax evasion), and social level (spread Unemployment, family disintegration, drug abuse and trafficking in them), psychological level (lack of loyalty to the state through the frustration of some citizens and their resort to extremism), and the legal level (which leads to the emergence of money laundering crimes and slow court procedures and attempts to obstruct them).

He also reviewed the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, which aims to set goals and policies to ensure that it is besieged, and to activate a societal culture that rejects it, through two phases: the first (2014-2018) and the second (2019-2022), which strengthened the confidence of the United Nations in supporting the organization of the International Anti-Corruption Conference. Which will be held in December 2021 AD for the Arab Republic of Egypt, with the presence of 186 countries.

He stated that this strategy has achieved positive results, by developing the legislative structure supporting the fight against corruption, such as the Civil Service Law, the Investment Law, the Law on Combating Organized Crime and Human Trafficking, and the amendment of some laws such as the Administrative Control Authority Law by adding some crimes to its powers such as foreign exchange and human trafficking. In addition to the establishment of the National Anti-Corruption Academy, in which a large number of Egyptians and non-Egyptians were trained on ways to combat corruption.
