Benha University celebrates the International Day against Corruption.
Benha University, in cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority in Qalyubia, organized today a celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day in the presence of Dr. Gamal Al-Saeed, President of the University and Major General Khaled Abdel-Latif, President of the Administrative Control Authority in Qalyubia, Dr. Nasser Al-Jizawi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and Dr. Tamer Samir, Vice President for Education, Student and Dr. Jamal Sousa, supervisor of the community service and environmental development sector, Dr. Khaled Essawy, general coordinator of student activities, and Samia Abdel Hamid, secretary general of the university, deans of colleges, assistant secretaries, faculty members, administrative staff, and students
In his speech, Dr. Jamal Al-Saeed, President of Benha University, emphasized that corruption is the scourge of all ages, and combating it in all its forms is one of the main priorities of all institutions in all countries of the world, whether advanced or developing, indicating that corruption in its various forms is a phenomenon present in all countries, but to varying degrees of Where the risk and impact
Al-Saeed pointed out that Benha University is constantly striving to emphasize the values of integrity, transparency and interaction with the International Anti-Corruption Day, which corresponds to December 9 of each year. Integrity, transparency and awareness of the dangers of corruption and today we celebrate the International Anti-Corruption Day together to confirm that we are indeed united in combating corruption because we are all partners in protecting our dear country and because corruption is one of the most important obstacles to achieving sustainable development goals
Al-Saeed said: Benha University is committed to ethical values governing its academic, research and community activities through which we work to achieve standards of integrity and transparency, and through this commitment the university was able to achieve remarkable distinction in the British Times of Sustainable Development 2020 classification, which measures the university’s commitment to achieving the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations. As the university ranked first locally and ranked 101-200 globally, and the university administration confirms this by raising the slogan "No one is above accounting" from the president of the university to the youngest university employee. The past period has witnessed many procedures that clearly confirm this.
The President of Benha University praised the role of the Administrative Control Authority in combating corruption and establishing the values of integrity and transparency. For his part, Dr. Gamal Sousa, supervisor of the community service and environmental development sector and coordinator of the sub-plan of Benha University to prevent and combat corruption, gave a presentation on the efforts of Benha University in spreading the values of integrity, transparency and awareness of corruption dangers, indicating that the university has a vision and mission to understand and identify corruption risks through developing Completing the structure of the university’s administrative apparatus, and activating the administrative quality systems and excellence in government performance in order to develop an efficient and effective administrative apparatus that takes into account the university providing high-quality services to its members through activating the mechanisms of transparency and integrity in the units within the university in addition to activating the governmental complaints system and updating judicial procedures in order to achieve completed justice. Sousse pointed out that the university has carried out student initiatives and seminars to raise awareness of the dangers of corruption and its danger to society, as well as brochures and posters to raise awareness of its risks to society, in addition to the participation of civil society organizations and the private sector in preventing corruption and preventing it through cooperation with them such as the National Bank of Egypt
In his speech, Major General Khaled Abdel Latif, head of the Administrative Control Authority in Qalyubia, thanked Benha University for their participation in the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day, noting that Benha University was a pioneer in implementing the objectives of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and an important platform in educating students about matters related to corruption as they are the future of the state and Egypt's hope
Abdullatif emphasized that combating corruption is not only the responsibility of the regulatory agencies, but rather a participatory responsibility among all groups of society, indicating that there must be awareness and determination to work on combating corruption because of its positive impact on the individual and society.
In his speech, the head of the Administrative Control Authority in Qalubia reviewed the definition of corruption and the negative effects resulting from it, the objectives of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and its role in setting policies, programs and mechanisms that ensure its encirclement
He also reviewed during the meeting the efforts of the administrative body, its specializations and its role in combating corruption, promoting the values of integrity and transparency, and preserving public money, stressing that information technology and digital transformation is one of the most important means to curb corruption.
