Within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the government will quickly implement the projects planned in the "A Decent Life" initiative, which was launched by his Excellency to raise the standard of living of citizens and increase development rates in the villages most in need. This initiative aims to advance the development of basic services provided to citizens From the various facilities, alleviating poverty rates and the citizens ’sense of development rates, Dr. Muhammad Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, directed that the electricity distribution companies take the necessary measures towards improving the efficiency of electrical networks in the targeted villages.
Dr. Shaker explained that the development plan for the electricity networks that will be implemented includes improving the service and raising the efficiency of the electrical supply, and includes completing the conversion of exposed low-voltage conductors into insulated ones, changing the conductors of small sections to others of a suitable section, raising the capacity of the transformers, replacing the rickety columns, replacing the suspended transformers with kiosks, and creating new feeders. To integrate all tasks of the distribution network to improve the performance and stability of electrical supply and to develop solutions to avoid problems of long lines.
In this regard, Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Company has drawn up the necessary plans for development work for the villages most in need within the company's geographical scope in the governorates of Sohag, Qena, Luxor and Aswan.
Where (52) villages have been included in the company's scope of the development plan, with a total investment of 642 million pounds, as follows:
Sohag Governorate (Sohag Electricity Distribution Sector): Barkhel village, Al-Harjah village, Bani Hamil village, Al-Islah village, Shaloul Sons village, Arraba Abu Al-Dahab village, Al-Kamil and Al-Hajarseh village, Saad Allah village, Sheikh Makram village, Al-Issawiya village, Al-Kula village, village Fawagli, Al-Farasiya village, Al-Duwair village, Al-Hasamda village, Umm Douma village, Al-Qawiya village, Banawit village, Ali bin Abi Talib village, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq village, Enebis village, Nazzali Dawood village, Al-Saffiha village, Nazlet Amara village, Hajer Mashta village, The village of Bani Harb, the village of Nazlet Ali, the village of Sheikh Rahmeh
And in the governorate of Qena (Qena electricity distribution sector): Bilad Al-Mal village, Al-Umrah village, Samhoud village, Al-Sharqi village of Samhoud, Al-Habilat Al-Gharbia village, Al-Dahsa village, Hajj Salam village, Naga Azzouz village, Naga Said village, Abu Manaa Qebili village, Al-Samta village Bahri, the village of Samta Qebly.
And in the Luxor governorate (Luxor electricity distribution sector): the village of Al-Qebli, Qamula, the village of Al-Najoua Qebili, and the middle village of Thomas
And in Aswan Governorate (Aswan Electricity Distribution Sector): Sabil Al Arab village, Khor Abu Sabira village, Sinjari village, Al-Hikma village, Al-Ashraf village, Al-Karamah village, Al-Manar village, Al-Iman village, Shahama village.
The implementation of the first phase of development has been completed with (25) villages, with a total investment of 20.5 million pounds, and it includes the following works:
- Changing all the dilapidated lighting poles, taking into account that all the poles are in good condition.
Painting all columns and making concrete decorations to protect them.
Completely isolate all supply connectors up to subscriber feed source.
- Whole network grounding to ensure the stability and quality of the feed.
Development of network components including transformers, kiosks and all sources of supply.
The second phase of development for the current year 2020/2021 is being implemented in 16 villages, with a total investment of 44.5 million pounds, and the works include:
Replace all suspended transformers to become fully secured inside booths.
Implementing and providing alternative nutrition sources and changing all sources of radiation from radiation to become ring feeding and secure, to ensure the continuity and stability of nutrition during breakdowns and periodic maintenance.
It is planned that the implementation of the third stage of development will be completed for all villages of the "A Decent Life" initiative during the years 2021/2022 - 2022/2023 - 2023/2024 with a total investment of 577 million pounds, including the following:
Completion of what was done during the first and second phase.
- Securing nutrition through mutual sources, as well as the main food dispensers.
- Complete change of counters for prepaid or smart.
Dr. Muhammad Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, affirmed the speedy implementation of development plans while preserving high quality and raising the level of service and the electrical network, stressing the importance of solving citizens' problems and identifying their causes to avoid their recurrence in the future.
