Maddah El-Said Abdel-Rahman Al-Abassiri: I dream of restoring the glories of religious singing in Egypt



His hearing was related to the voice of the Holy Quran Radio and the voices of the great sheikhs and reciters who used to ring the house with their voices, and their recitation filled the atmosphere of the rooms in the quiet corner of Upper Egypt in Minya, then he went out to the grove of the singers of a new maddah, called Abdul Rahman Al-Abasiri, 23 years old.

 

Creativity and encouragement from childhood

His parents discovered the sweetness of his voice and noticed his good and lasting listening to the prayers, readings and simulations of the readers, but the apparent emergence of talent began to intensify his return in the middle school through his participation in school radio programs with the Qur’an and chants, from which he touched at the same stage to the mosques and his talent appeared as a muezzin and became the imam of more than one mosque in The same stage and through the secondary stage, at the same pace.

 

Al-Abassiri took the talent of voice as a father on behalf of his grandfather, and he tells a "first page", saying: “But I inherited the field of religious chanting and reading the Qur’an, especially from my grandfather, Sheikh Muhammad Muhammad, famous for Sheikh Kamel al-Abassiri - may God have mercy on him - he was a reader and he would take me with him on the nights he used to read a plus He was one of the muezzins of the Al-Fuli Mosque, the largest mosque in Minya Governorate and one of its famous religious landmarks, and his name is recorded in the mosque's muezzins' painting.

 

Quran schools in Upper Egypt

Maddah Al-Said joined the schools of the Noble Qur’an and mastered its reading and developed my talent for religious chanting through his mastery of reading the Qur’an and his mastery of pronouncing words from their correct exits.


The maddah participated in various concerts, whether inside or outside Minya, he was received by the Minya University theater, and many other colleges' theaters inside the university, as he sang in the birthday parties that he was keen to participate in regularly, in addition to the university celebrations for the conclusion of student activities, and the advent of the month of Ramadan, And his participation in ceremonies honoring university presidents, vice presidents and faculty members.

 

Theaters and posts

Al-Abassiri sang on the Minya governorate theater, the Roman theater, and the Armed Forces Club. As for his participation outside Minya, he participated in many concerts with his teacher Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Tohami as one of the sons of the School of Religious Chanting and the Syndicate of Religious Chants and the cults in Prince Taz Palace and Al Hanager Theater in the Egyptian Opera House, in addition to To his participation with the Perfume Al-Madih band in a number of different concerts, the most prominent of which was in the Cultural Quarter on Al-Muizz Li Din Allah Fatimid Street and in the Armed Forces Club in Zamalek, and his fame spread until he reached the governorates of Qena, Giza, Fayoum, Qalyubia and Mansoura.

 

Awards and achievements

Maddah Upper Egypt has received many awards, including the first place award at the level of Minya University in religious chanting in 2015/2016 and in 2016/2017 and ranked from the top five at the university level in 2017/2018, and he won second place at the university level In 2018/2019, he won second place at the level of Minya governorate centers in the qualifying rounds for the first season of creativity festival for youth centers, and a graduation certificate from the School of Religious Recitation, and was honored by Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Tohamy, Sheikh Taha Al-Iskandrani and Maestro Professor Mustafa Najdi.

 

The praise was influenced by the chanting

Al-Abassiri received great support and tremendous encouragement from his friends, relatives and loved ones, which strengthened the spirit of work and diligence in himself, and he talks about this encouragement, saying: “Many people were encouraging me and stood up for me and helped me strive to enlighten my talent and in return there were very frustrated people, but I was exploiting their frustration and defying them. I challenge myself to reach me with his wishes. ”

 

The vocalist is inclined to the voice of Sheikh Nasreddin Tobar, in his reverence and the spirituality that fills his voice, as well as Sheikh Muhammad Imran, who embodies chanting as a melody, and also Sheikh Sayed al-Naqshbandi, in the strength and majesty of his performance, and modern international vocalist Maher Zain.

 

Realistic vision and dreamy wishes

Maddah Upper Egypt believes that religious singing is currently in Egypt regaining its prestige and status and returning to its glory with the emergence of a large generation of young people and capable and talented buds with the presence of a union and schools for religious vocalization, and they have become containing talents, teaching them, developing their abilities, providing them with experiences, and transmitting to them the Egyptian heritage.

 

Al-Abassiri hopes that it will be a distinctive mark in religious chanting and be the best way to convey his message and his goal, and that his voice and message reach Muslims and others of all nationalities and religions, and that he be a source of pride and honor for his father and mother, his family, his country and his religion.


He adds, “I wish religious singing in the future, that it will give birth to new generations to Egypt and the Arab world that lead the field and repeat the glory of Naqshbandi, Tobar, Al-Fashni, Amran, Fayoumi, Al-Bahtimi and Ali Mahmoud (with titles preserved of course) and connect more hearts, correct misconceptions about religion, communicate His eminence and peace, and know people more about our master, the Prophet. And his morals and dealings ».
