Parliamentarian Tamer El-Shahawy is considered to be born in Heliopolis, Cairo. He is married and has two sons in university education. He enrolled as a student in the Lycee schools in Heliopolis and the National Menasheth al-Bakri, then al-Tabari preparatory and high school Roxy in Heliopolis.
Major General Tamer Al-Shahawi graduated from the Armed Forces formations (artillery corps), then joined the Military Intelligence, which I spent nearly 20 years in.
Major General Tamer Al-Shahawi has received all military and civil qualifying courses in Egypt and abroad, including thunderbolt teams, parachutes and intelligence teams, and he has multiple researches in the field of security and information, the most important of which is (the religious situation in Egypt) and the other (Iran and its secret relations).
The Major General won the Sinai Liberation Medal as well as the Long Service Medal and Good Example of the First Class from the President of the Republic in 2010. He also won the January 25 Medal, in addition to the June 30 Medal.
Major General Tamer Al-Shahawi was honored several times by the General Command of the Armed Forces as well as from a number of Arab and foreign countries, and he had taken over the management of the most dangerous files during the critical period the country went through.
Parliamentarian Tamer Al-Shahawi obtained a diploma in sociology and psychology, a diploma in human resources development and a diploma in public administration, as well as advanced studies in constitutional and international law, strategic planning and political systems.
Major General Tamer Al-Shahawi received a master's degree in political science and is preparing to obtain a doctorate, as well as an honorary doctorate from the United Nations in 2015 for my efforts in community service, combating violence and terrorism, and serving world peace.
Major General Tamer Al-Shahawi was awarded the title of Goodwill Ambassador to the Arab University in 2016 and he is a member of the Egyptian Veterans Association, and also a member of the Syndicate of the Honorable (the descendants of the Prophet, may blessings and peace be upon him) and a member of Al-Ahly, Hunting, Sporting, Samouha, Equestrian and Armed Forces Clubs, as well as a member of their association. Major General Tamer Al-Shahawi is considered one of the specialists in the fight against international terrorism by all means, which include the security, social and political aspects, and he is qualified to teach in all local and international institutes in this regard.
He retired on January 2015 and appeared in the media as of January 25, 2015, adopting his national awareness-raising project to confront the threats facing the nation, both at home and abroad, and believing in the role of the media in shaping awareness, and for that, nearly 150 seminars were held in various parts of the republic as well as nearly 1,000 hours of meetings. Major General Tamer Al-Shahawi ran independently from the Nasr City constituency in 2015 and maintained his independence in Parliament and joined the Defense and National Security Committee until now and is currently preparing to run the parliamentary race again as a candidate for Parliament 2021 for the constituencies of Nasr City and New Egypt.
